STUDENT
SUPPORT SERVICES (TRIO)
Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded academic assistance
program (TRIO) that has been implemented at CAU since the Fall of
2001. The SSS Center provides opportunities for
academic development, assists students with basic college requirements,
and serves to motivate students towards the successful completion
of their postsecondary education. The SSS Center may also provide
grant aid to current SSS participants who are receiving Federal Pell
Grants.
There is no cost for these services.
Every four years, universities
compete at the national level to
receive continued federal funding. Currently there are over 800 SSS programs
across the nation. Although each program is different, we all have the same purpose: to retain and graduate the students
we serve.
Over 90% of the students served by the SSS program return to school the next
year in good standing, and a high percentage of the students graduate within
5 years. If you become actively involved, you are likely to experience academic
success.
