MASTER
OF SCIENCE-EXCEPTIONAL STUDENT EDUCATION The
Master of Science in Exceptional Student Education with a concentration
in Varying Exceptionalities is designed for students who wish
to obtain a teaching certification within the State of Florida
in the area of Varying Exceptionalities. The purpose of the program
is to prepare culturally sensitive educators to respond to the
special and unique needs of children with exceptionalities in
grades K – 12.
CAU's unique program design,
with its wide course selection, integrates the study and understanding
of human behaviors, and sensitivity towards culturally diverse populations
into the field of education. The availability of day, evening, and
Saturday classes provides flexibility for working professionals.
The program is designed to provide the student with theoretical
knowledge and practical skills gained through classroom experiences
in a supervised setting. Our students receive training in Practicum
and Internship sites that provide experience in teaching and understanding
children of multiple ethnic backgrounds. Psychological theories
and techniques are incorporated into every course within the curriculum
to maximize student learning.
You will study with professionals who are active in their fields
and know the job markets, in a small classroom setting with a personal
atmosphere.
